Low Temperature Starting Aid (LTSA)

Advanced Engine Technology Ltd. (AET), Ottawa, Canada, has developed a new starting aid designed to allow easier hand starting of smaller diesel engines at temperatures lower than - 40 °C (- 40 °F). This now permits low temperature starting of small diesels to be as easy as or easier than, their spark ignition counterparts. This patented technology enables a generator set that has been exposed to Arctic winter conditions for long periods (i.e. months to over a year) to be hand started within a few minutes, utilizing the Low Temperature Starting Aid (LTSA™).
